📖 What we do NOT do — honestly
We do not knock on the mailbox (no SMTP pinging). Why? Because fake SMTP probes are treated as abuse by mail providers, they hurt our IP reputation, and their results are unreliable anyway (many servers always answer "exists" against bots). We never claim "the mailbox exists" — we only prove the address is technically deliverable.

How do we verify? (4 steps, in order)

1. Format

We check the address follows the (text@domain) structure within sane length limits.

2. Disposable

We compare the domain against the disposable-mail list (Mailinator and similar), managed from the workshop dashboard.

3. MX record

We ask DNS: does this domain have an MX record? I.e. can it actually receive mail? No MX means the address is dead.

4. Role address

admin@, info@, support@… is a function, not a person: we flag it clearly and never treat it as a real customer.

Meaning of reason and score

`ok`	Valid address — correct format, not disposable, receiving domain.	100
`role_based`	Role address (admin@, info@…) — the mailbox probably exists but it is not a real person.	60
